John first joined OGT in October 2020 as a GUI Developer intern. The internship was undertaken while on leave from the USAF where, during the final five years of a six-year rotation, he was an Airborne Linguist. In January 2021, upon discharge from the USAF as a Staff Sargent, he became a Junior Software (GUI) Developer. In May 2026, John graduated sum cum laude from Texas Technical University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He is currently on a leave of absence from OGT while he pursues a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Notre Dame. John can be contacted at jweiland@nd.edu.
