Development Engineer Job Duties/Description
The Development Engineer will work with Optimized Gas Treating’s commercial product line which includes ProTreat®, SulphurPro®, and other downloadable content. The duties of the Development Engineer include:
Implementing chemical process modeling and simulation capabilities:Algorithm development of general-purpose numerical methods for chemical engineering-specific applications and high-level macro optimization Software architectural design including data storage and routine interfacing for modular component programming Adding and improving inert/reactive chemical thermodynamic modelsEquation-of-State, Activity-Based, and Empirically derived Algorithm development and maintenance of high-level, multi-parameter optimization techniques for data fitting and reconciliation Adding and improving chemical and physical property predictionsEquation-of-State, Semi-Empirical, and fully Empirical Assist with marketing activities and provide technical backup to sales staff Opportunity to author technical articles and present technical papers at industry known magazine outlets and conferences
Requirements
Minimum of Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering Expertise in chemical engineering thermodynamics, phase equilibrium, chemical reaction engineering, and mass transfer Application experience in developing process models for distillation, absorption, reactors, and other chemical engineering unit operationsRate-based modeling preferred Experience in file-sharing, source control, and version control in collective coding environment Experience in hands-on laboratory, pilot, and/or commercial scale chemical plantsAbility to screen, analyze, and process collected data Familiarity with common chemical analytical techniques and measurement hardware Strong interpersonal and communication skills Creative self-starter

We have positions for Chemical Engineers interested in joining our sales and licensing team as Applications Engineers working from our Buda, Texas office. Applications Engineers meet with existing customers to encourage software license renewals and with prospects to secure new simulation software licensing. Positions involve travel within the United States and internationally.

Host Teams, Zoom, and in-person meetings with existing and prospective clients
Attend conferences, author and present technical paper, develop prospects
Assist customers to use OGT software
Engage in customer technical support
Requirements:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering
Good computer and analytical skills
