Michael joined OGT as a Software Developer in August 2026. He graduated with B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics with a minor in Physics from the University of North Texas in 2023 and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of North Texas in 2024. His undergraduate and graduate research focused on data-driven approaches to understanding urban air pollution (specifically fine particulate matter) and dust events. Before joining OGT, Michael spent 2 years working in Research & Development for the Defense industry. He initially learned to program out of a desire to make his own video games (something he continues as a hobby). In his professional work, he combines his programming expertise, his passion for data and math, and his love for natural science to develop quality scientific software and analyses.
