Sulphur Reheaters
Sulfur streams are generally reheated between the sulfur condenser and converter. Reheating can be done via a heating medium such as steam or another hot process fluid or by directly combusting a small stream of acid gas. SulphurPro® allows you to simulate this operation in either sizing or rating mode, or via a simple energy balance. Reheaters can be segmented so that temperature profiles along the length of the reheater can be obtained. In rating and sizing mode, pressure drop can be calculated from fundamental fluid mechanical considerations based on heater geometry and flow rates. Sulfidation calculations relevant to reheaters are also done. Reheating can also be done using acid gas in a special burner block.
