Degassing Pit
Before molten sulfur can be allowed to flow to storage , it must have residual H2S removed. This is often done by an air sweep of the sulfur pit. The sweep air, now containing H2S, is sent to the TGU along with the tail gas from the process. SulphurPro® contains a unit operation which models the sulfur pit and its efficacy in removing H2S from the product sulfur. This allows you to close in ever more tightly on the actual emissions from the SRU in terms of the emission rates of real species.
